I just love that tag line. Sammy Snacks are just that and more. A seven year old food and treat bakery located in Charlottesville, Virginia, Sammy Snacks treats are baked on site and are good for both people and pets. They were initially sold at Farmer’s Market’s but because they were so popular, a retail store was born. All ingredients are human grade, gluten free and very tasty. (We especially liked the carob flavor which taste like chocolate chip cookies - just a little crunchier).
Our testing team really enjoyed them as well. “My dogs loved them.” The team liked that they were small - so you don’t have to break them up for smaller dogs, and portable - great for travel. “Our pups loved them all, and even tried to get the one that rolled under the fridge!” He gets an ‘A’ for effort!
The flavors we tested included Carob Snackers, Peanut Butter Snackers, Cranberry Snackers, Cheddar Snackers and Pumpkin Spice Snackers with the most popular being the Peanut Butter and Carob. All testers said they would buy more or similar products from Sammy Snacks.

I just want to let you know how much I love this dog food! My dog’s coat has never looked better and he is maintaining such a good weight. He is doing very well for an old dog and I definitely think since switching to this brand, he is better for it. Not to mention, the snacks are really good! The whole family over here eats em up, even my 2 year old thinks they are yummy. It truly is a snack for the whole family and dog!

Our dog Dakota a beautiful black lab and now 12 years old loves the snacks. Since giving her the snacks on a regular basis she appears to have more energy and is generally in much better condition as far as weight, looks and energy level.

Our dog Rocky ’s entire diet is from Sammy Snacks. We give him the Senior/ Weigh Management food and a variety of flavors of the treats. He likes them all, but really has a thing for the Cheddar Cheese. Personally I love the carob chip (as does my 1.5 year old daughter). Rocky’s health is wonderful, his coat looks great and he has a lot of energy for a 7 year old large breed dog. As the other “baby” in the family, it is very important to us to serve him the best quality food for maximum nutrition and health and Sammy Snacks products fit the bill. I tell all pet parents I know about their products- I can’t recommend them enough!
Our dog, Oreo, is a black lab mix who is about 12 years old and a VERY picky eater. As she gets older, she is even more difficult to satisfy. Sammy Snacks have provided a delicious and nutritious balance to her diet. She NEVER refuses and is much happier and healthier because of it. It is also great to know that the food is all-natural and that the human portion of our family can enjoy the treats as much as the dog!
I have been a loyal supporter of Sammy Snacks for five years and for fun,my preference is to offer the snacks to human friends versus dogs. People seem to really enjoy sharing dog treats! I serve the garlic cheese treats at coctail parties and then tell my friends they are actually dog treats! Always gets a fun response.
We love Sammy Snacks. Our 1 year old chocolate lab Bruno loves both the chicken and the lamb formulas of food. Of course the snacks are great too. Bruno currently is enjoying the peanut butter snacks, I prefer the carob ones personally (and the seasonal mint ones). They are healthy and the perfect size for training a young pup. Bruno never gets tired of the Sammy Snacks food the way he does with more commercial brands. It’s a wonderful thing to be able to feed our dog with the same sort of health consciousness with which we feed ourselves. Bruno is an active Colorado dog who needs the very best nutrition and Sammy Snacks provides that.
Our canine family loves Sammy Snacks Food and Snacks. Our lab had some food allergy issues and sensitive skin. It was suggested we try Sammy chicken food and his skin completely cleared up. The carob chip snacks are the “house” treat. I keep them in a bowl near the front door and it is funny to see people take a snack and then hear they are for dogs - but people can eat them too!
We are using Sammy Snacks for the first time and I must say how much our dog enjoys it. After eating his meals, he knows that after dinner there will be his doggie snacks waiting for him and anyone that knows our dog “Freebie” he will not give up until he gets what he is wating for. So not only is he eating well, I too have the snacks right along with him. Keep up the wonderful work and we will all be happy.
We love both the food and treats. My Jack Russell stays a healthy weight with lots of energy on the food, and she loves the treats for an occasional snack. I also have picky cats that love Sammy Snacks food. I have no idea what I’d feed my babies if it wasn’t for Sammy Snacks.

We have 3 furries,2 Boxers Otis & Cinder, age 10 and 8, and a Bagel (basset & beagle), Ginger, age 5. When Ois was about 2 he developed and allergy to wheat, after trying a few other foods, we found Sammy Snacks and have been feeding them all Sammy Snacks, ever since . No more scratching and chewing his paws. Otis and Cinder eat the Adult Lamb, and our Ginger has to watch her girly figure, so she is on the Weight Maintance. Sammy Snacks is all they eat, (well maybe a table scap now & then) They all have beautiful coats, and are happy dogs. They love the Sammy Snack treats, the carob are their favorite. Our grandchildren like them too! If they could talk, I’m sure they would say, Thanks Sammy Snacks!!!
We love Sammy Snacks! My dog loves both the food and the treats. I feel great about feeding him all natural ingredients and it keeps his coat shiny too. and yes, humans can eat the treats and enjoy them. My favorite treats to snack on are the garlic cheese treats and the cranberry treats.
Sammy Snacks is fabulous! Our 120 lb yellow lab has been eating Sammy Snacks adult (aka get slim!) food and he has lost 11 pounds already in 3 months. We were startled. Yes, we took 1/2 cup of food a day away also, but other than that, switching to Sammy Snacks has been amazing for Zacharia. Unfortunately, he has another 8 lbs to go. But, though only anecdotal, since we’ve had him on this slim down food, he has not had an epileptic seizure in the entire 3 months. We’re keeping our fingers crossed. He of course, loves the snack treats, but he is so much more fun and agile now that he has been eating food that is much better for him! And we are grateful that our 4-year old special needs lab and family member hasn’t made us hold him down and give him medicine because he has been seizure free! Okay, we’re sure ti didn’t cure him, but if can go from one a week to once a quarter, I’m in!
I have a 50+ year old Texan-Virginian-Mix named Bill and a 7 month old Golden Retriever named Lucy. The Sammy Snacks are big hit with the both of them. I use the treats to get them to do tricks and household chores. Lucy has learned to sit, lay-down, and stay, while Bill is still working on speak and roll-over… (he’s a work in progress) and I think he’s a purposely slow learner so as to get more Sammy Snacks. Needless to say, we all love Sammy Snacks at our house!!! (The Peanut Butter ones are the favorite!)

This might seem strange since we don’t have a dog but we like Sammy Snacks treats ourselves. I carry them around in my car since I do a lot of driving and the treats are easy and tasty as a snack. The treats are fresh baked each day at the store so you know you are getting really fresh products. They are even gluten free. Both daughters have dogs and have been Sammy Snacks food and treat fans for a couple of years. Since they are both out of town, I send them extra treats from time-to-time. Our families seem to prefer the Carob Chip treats for dogs and humans. The Peanut Butter and Cheese & Garlic seem like favorites for the dogs. Needless to say, we are all big fans of Sammy Snacks treats and food.
