Here’s a doggy training success story from a friend…

The Doggie success story –

This stray dog found my brother and sister-in-law about a year ago.

They adopted him and he was a total nightmare.  He jumped and mauled people when walking.  He destroyed the screen door and chewed on the banisters.   Once my children were playing at their house and the dog got excited and thought their jackets looked like interesting play toys.  Too bad my children were still wearing them.  Very scary moment but no one was hurt.

Well then my sister-in-law found out she was pregnant, I thought they would get rid of the dog [insert hallelujah here], but they were too attached.   So they hired a dog trainer from Bark Busters – HUGE difference!  Now he is a good little doggie and much more pleasant to be around.  Anyway just thought I would share.

A yummy holiday feast for your best friend from the queen of 30 minute meals, Rachael Ray.

1 Tablespoon EVOO
1/4 pound ground turkey
1 small carrot, chopped or grated
1/4 cup unseasoned stuffing bread cubes
1/2 Tablespoon butter
1/2 Tablespoon flour
2 cups turkey or chicken stock

In medium skillet, heat the EVOO. Add turkey and cook until light brown. Add carrot and cook for 5 minutes. Add peas and lower heat to low. Stir in bread cubes and remove from heat.

In small skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour, then add 1 cup turkey stock and cook, whisking constantly, until the gravy thickens, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat.

Soften the stuffing with the remaining 1 cup stock. Place in a bowl for your pup and let cool for about 5 minutes. Top with the gravy and let cool for another minute before serving.

Bon Appetite!

dogs at the lake

Had a little R&R at the lake. Jess and I love the lake. Lots of swimming, chasing ducks, barking at unknown noises and general frolicking. Not as many squizzles as I’d like but I’ll see to those now that I’m home.
